BASIC NOT BORING
The newest jeans for pre-fall are basic without being boring. The key leg shape is straight as a ruler, although there are some variations that are slightly pegged or subtly flared. Finishes are “medium-loved”— not too dark and not overly bleached; some have light fraying at pocket edges or hemlines, or a few small abraded holes. Waists hit at the natural waist. Off-kilter fly-fronts, pleats or a mini apron-wrap add a bit of novelty, but the overall effect is understated and perfectly imperfect.
