The trend towards wearing nighties or pajamas as ready-to-wear evolves for next spring. Designers show all sorts of spaghetti-strapped slips, PJ sets and mismatched bedtime ensembles. This summer’s silky kimono coat is still there, but newer are little bed-jackets — frilly cover-ups that seem right out of a 40s movie, when starlets wore them for lounging while being served breakfast in bed. There are fresh cuff details for soft pajama pants, including deep or shallow flounces. Most of these “day-jamas” are in silky prints or jacquards, often trimmed with lace, velvet or marabou. Sheer fur-trimmed boots complete the look.
