DRESSING WITH FLARE
If the new Pre-Fall collections are any indication, the flare-leg pant silhouette is here to stay. Designers showed the pant in all kinds of fabrics, from large-scale plaids to velvet to denim. The shape looks particularly right in extra-long lengths; some versions even have a slit at the pants’ hem to help the slouchy puddled-over-shoe effect. Flare legs work for tailored trousers, jeans or jumpsuits, and are a key element for the season’s long-over-long layering, with the widened legs peeking out from under a skirt, midi-dress or a long coat.
