New York Fashion Week SS19 kicked off with Tom Ford, as usual. In a collection of lingerie influences and tailored tuxedos, the newness was in the delicate color palette. Black and blush tones were mixed with shades of lilac, from pale mauve to gray-cast lavender to purple-cast nudes. The colors were used in satins, lustrous jacquards and lace-trimmed silks, as well as croc-embossed skins. Accessories emphasized the color story, from chiffon headwraps in gentle tints to metal-tipped satin pumps.
