MAD FOR PLAID
Plaid, how we love you in all your incarnations. And while recent seasons have showcased subtle prince-of-wales patterns (still valid) or bright collegiate tartans (still valid) the newest cross-dye grids are full of color without being loud. Plaid is often thought of as a fall thing, but springtime plaids are just as appealing. Designers showed these beauties in sheer organzas, raw silks and laundered cottons. The motif looks great when styled head-to-toe in matching or mismatching combos, but works in small doses too, as in plaid pants or a wide border for rib-knit dress.
